7 Characteristic of Creative Thinking

1. Receptivity-Be open to new ideas; welcome new experiences.

I believe it is extremely important for you to be able to be open to new experiences and ideas or else your artwork will be boring. If you are closed minded and refuse to be adventurous, then you wont be able to come up with new ideas and different ways to look at how to improve your artwork.

2. Attentiveness- Every experience is potentially valuable.

If you are attentive while working on a piece of your own art, you will be able to pick up on things you could add on or change to make it either look completely different or so much better than before. You must be able to pick up on key things like those to succeed in you art career.

3. Conviction- Tenaciously pursue an independent path.

It is important to be able to do your own unique work of art instead of follow in others shadows. you need to be able to make your own brand and grow a name for yourself.

4. Curiosity- Research unusual topics; analyze unfamiliar systems.

If you are curious about your world around you, it will allow you to ask questions about your work and what you should do. Instead of just taking random pictures, you will be able to use your newfound knowledge to come up with weird or odd pictures that are attractive to the eye.

5. Wide Range of Interests- With more components, the number of combinations increase.

Your interests can play a huge part in your artwork. If you have multiple interests, you could combine them to create a big collaboration of the two.

6. Seeking Connections- See the similarity between disparate parts.

If you work hard enough, you can combine two completely opposite objects or subjects of matter and make sense. If you can do this, it shows you a whole new world to look for artwork.

7. Complexity- Combine the irrational with the intuitive.

If you make artwork that takes effort or is harder to pull off, your piece will be better than any others who just threw normal boring things together.
