Purpose of a Camera?

My philosophy of the camera is that is needed in every culture in some way or another. You use cameras to capture special moments in your life, and beautiful things you see. Say you go to the grand canyon. You never went unless you took a picture according to society. In lamer terms, its a way of proving that the things you did actually happen. Cameras are also used to capture family occasions. At a child's first birthday party, you take millions of pictures and videos because although the child will never remember it's first birthday, you will have the pictures and videos to show as "a walk down memory road". Cameras are a very important part in the average person's culture, whether its just to take pictures of pretty things or to capture important moments in life.
